You know, those blurbs on the back inside dustjacket of books which tell a wee little bit about the author? "Alix loves to curl and lives with 7 cats, a moose, and a parrotlet in the wilds of the Yukon."

I tried writing one. I tried more than once, in fact. It sounded either terribly conceited, or boringly pedestrian. Maybe because i've never curled; i don't know.

Well, pedestrian is right out. So, here's my stream of consciousness web edition of who i am in this context.

I delight in problem solving, and i try to work on projects that allow me to do as much of that as possible. I like to brainstorm, i like to put new and outrageous ideas through the wringer and come up with some creation that will allow me to remember it fondly even years later.

I've worked with computers for going on 26 years, specializing first in design and development of computer-assisted instruction and computer-based training, and for the last several years in high-end graphics -- 3D modelling and animation. I'm particularly interested in the human interface aspect of such highly interactive programs.

Not to forget web design, which is a relatively new passion, and comes complete with a desire to create pages with a concept of typography and layout that recognizes what's good about such things in more traditional media. I've got a lot to learn yet, but i promise, not a single BLINK tag.

And yes, i am weird about not spelling the first singular pronoun with a capital letter. Forgive me. It's all i've got left from my days as a unix hacker, *sob*.
